About Color in Nature

Color in Nature began its journey in 1994 when a group of thirteen artists decided to join in a workshop. The first venue that had been chosen was Migdal, a rural settlement located in Northern Israel in the beautiful surrounding facing the sea of Galilee. Since then, the number of group members has largely increased and is now approximately one hundred. The members of Color in Nature organize art, painting and sculpture workshops several times a year, and they display their works – paintings and sculptures – both in Israel and outside of Israel. In so doing, the members of Color in Nature set both themselves and their works in the Israeli art scene.

The members of Color in Nature are in tune with contemporary Israeli art. They express themselves through their artistic values, in shape and composition, wherein each artist expresses his or her own truth, in his or her own unique way. The members of Color in Nature become completely submerged in Nature. And they let the impressions produced from the landscape and from their surroundings seep into them, into their souls, in a personal saying which is born of the artistic experience itself – the textures of colors, shapes, light and shadows, which the landscape provides for the artist.

The members of Color in Nature are usually either painters or sculptors, but some are both. Color in Nature is a homogenous and tightly knit group, but at the same time it is multifaceted and pluralistic in its methods of expression, its techniques, and the technologies each member has chosen for his or her self expression. Within the artistic process one can observe magic-like phenomena that take place in the artists' souls, both in painting and in sculpture, some kind of a private poetry which is formed through the interaction of artists, canvases, brushes and landscapes. The joy of artistic creation grows steadily and it aspires for a harmony not unlike that of an orchestra of musical instruments playing in Nature, a fusion created by the merging of the Color in Nature artists and the landscape.

This artistic website contains a world filled with the joy of creation, in full and vivid colors. The members of Color in Nature whose works are displayed on this website enrich its artistic content, each artist according to his or her talents, artistic achievements and faithfulness to the landscapes and colors.

The joint outings in Nature, the intoxicating landscapes and all the other artistic activities have brought the members of Color in Nature closely together and created friendly and creative bonds between them. The various results of these joint activities are shown here on the website and demonstrate the wealth of creation and the artistic and social accomplishments of the Color in Nature artists.
